Stephen Dunstan Writer

We share a world of diverse cultures, communities, and gods.
There are challenges. Through my writing, I want to show how we can exploit commonalities, work together, and create new things.

The whiskey has been known to help!

My novel, tentatively called ‘A New God Rises’ starts with the Fermi Paradox, or as described by Arthur C. Clarke:

“Two possibilities exist: Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.”

It ends after a galaxy wide escapade as we struggle to save Earth. The AGI in my story named itself ‘And So I Emerge’. Can it help us overcome the protagonist, who is not what they first seem? Will Aden and Sofia Archer, a brother and sister, manage to overcome their obstacles, deploy their innovative technologies, and achieve a fresh start for humanity? Or will we be like many other species and meet our end.

Water is vital to a well-functioning society, but it’s use in Aotearoa New Zealand has a checkered history.  This non-fiction book tentatively titled ‘Aqua Pura? A history of water in Aotearoa / New Zealand’ and is exploring our history, how we got to our current position of degraded rivers and lakes after 180 years of European settlement, and where we go now. What is the realistic path forward?
